So Much to be Thankful For
Posted by Mari Jo on November 27, 2010 about Family, Comments are offThis Thanksgiving was spent at Mamaw and Papaw’s house this year (now THAT was truly something to be thankful for!). It was a different experience for me as I have grown quite accustomed to doing the cooking in our home, but I must admit, I did NOT miss doing all that cleaning up afterward! Thank you Mamaw for taking the burden this year, it was so nice to be able to sit back and relax with everyone!
Aubrey Ann and I have a mother-daughter tradition of doing all the baking together the day before Thanksgiving. In all our years past Aubrey Ann has spent most of her time making a mess, and licking spoons with much enthusiasm, however this year she was actually a lot of help! It was so fun. For days prior to our baking she was talking about it, and the morning before Thanksgiving she woke up ready to go! She spent every minute in the kitchen helping me mix, pour and measure.
It was fun to kick the boys out of the kitchen and just have some girl time. I look forward to the boys taking the day before Thanksgiving to go do some male bonding, and come home to the sweet smells of pumpkin, coconut, and chocolate pies. I hope that this tradition lasts for as long as Brandon and I are living.
Here are some pictures from our baking day before Thanksgiving, and our wonderful evening at Mamaw’s and Papaw’s house.
