Sailor Suit=WIN
Posted by Mari Jo on March 13, 2011 about Family, Comments are offHere are some pictures of the infamous sailor suit. I have caught flack over this for months now. Brandon was absolutely opposed to his son being in a sailor suit, but I happen to believe that little boys in sailor suits are adorable. So here are the pictures of the kids in their sailor suits, and you tell me whether these are worth the $13 I spent on that sweet little sailor suit. I happen to think they are worth much, much more.
- Make a wish
- Check out those chubby knees!
- I love these kids!
- Happy boy!
- Silly kids!
- Kisses for Daddy!
- I could just eat him up!
I must say, it may be the very first time I was ever right and Brandon was wrong.
Neener, neener, neener!
I am sooo in love!
Posted by Mari Jo on March 9, 2011 about Family, Comments are offThere are a few moments everyday that I wish I could just capture and keep in my pocket so I could relive them every time I need a pick me up. Today I had two such moments.
First, Landy Pants (aka Landon) is on a eating strike, I believe it might be due to teething, or just being a stinker. Either way, having a 6 month old who refuses his bottle all day makes for a tiresome day. However, there was one moment that made up for every time he has ever stuck out his tongue, arched his back, and refused to eat.
We were sitting on the couch, and Mr. Land was laying on my chest. We were doing our caveman talk, which is basically what it sounds like. He says, “Ehhhh”, I respond, “Ehhh?” So on and so forth, for as long as we can both stand it. After shooting the caveman breeze for a few minutes, he grabs both of my cheeks, leans in, and gives me the biggest, wettest, open mouth kiss ever. Complete with “ahhhhh” sound. After what seemed like forever, he pulled away, leaving my cheeks, chin, and lips soaked, and gives me the biggest smile. Then of course he say, “Ehhhh”.
The second moment was with Miss Punky Doodle. We had put her to bed for the night, and I was doing my nightly pick up of the house. I found a book that needed to go to her room, so I snuck in and slid it onto her bookshelf. As soon as AA heard me, she immediately sat up and said, “What are you doing?” I told her, “I am putting away one of your books.” She said, “I thought you were squirting me with water!” I started laughing, and was so overwhelmed with her cuteness that I needed to snuggle her, so I laid down next to her. She immediately asked, “Mama, do you need a back massage?” I always need a back massage, so of course I responded with an eager, “Yes!” Aubrey Ann immediately curled up with me, and put her sweet little hand on my back and proceeded to pinch me for a good 5 minutes. It wasn’t the best back massage, but it sure made a great heart massage.
Moments like this make up for every poopy diaper, every sticky handprint, every crumb, every tantrum, every toy I have ever tripped over, every middle of the night wake-up call, every extra load of laundry, every time I have been vomited on, every bit of my tiredness. I truly have the best job ever.
Sibling Love
Posted by Mari Jo on March 1, 2011 about Family, Comments are offNothing warms a parents heart like seeing their children love one another. Let me tell you, my heart is feeling pretty cozy these days. I cannot even tell you how wonderful it is to watch the kids together. Aubrey Ann cannot keep her hands off of little Land. She is always kissing, hugging, and playing with her little brother. She has even let Landon play with her beloved “Soft Bear”. Now THAT is love!
Landon is so entertained with his big sister. Every time she enters the room, Landon lights up with a big goofy grin. She dances, sings, and reads to him. One day, Landon was a bit fussy, and he was whining, so Aubrey Ann got out her books and started reading to him. As soon as she started reading, Landon was all smiles.
Here are some pictures of these sweet kids together.

- Such joy!
- They are often holding hands, even when I am not looking.
- This is how I almost always find them!

So how is my heart feeling these days? Toasty.
