What’s in the box?
Posted by Mari Jo on September 2, 2011 about Family, Comments are offI thought I would take a day this week and take pictures of what was in each of AA’s boxes for that day. It will be fun for her to be able to look back and see what school looked like for her in preschool.

Work box 1- Kindercub Alphabet book. This includes letter writing practice, cut and paste, and coloring.

Work box #2 Pattern blocks and cards. Cards give a pattern for AA to complete, then she continues the pattern for four more pieces to make sure she can repeat the pattern on her own.

Work box #3- History for little pilgrims (reading and study questions), and Bible. This was completed with me.

Work box #4- Reading made Easy. This is completed with me.

Work box #5- I took this picture after this box was finished. It is a compare and contrast land and sea animal art project. It goes along with our study on the 7 days of creation.

Work box #6- “Add it” math game. She used pistachios as a manipulative to complete the problems. They were long gone by the time I took this picture.

Work box #7- Rhyme cards

And of course, a kitty in AA’s finished work box.

Look who is ready for school!

Teacher, I have a question…
Prima Ballerina
Posted by Mari Jo on September 2, 2011 about Family, Comments are offAA started her ballet and tap class this last week. She was so excited, and I must admit, I was a bit excited too. She did so great. She worked really hard, and her teacher is wonderful.
Here are a few pictures of our beautiful ballerina before and during her very first class.

I think she is ready!

Work those tap shoes, girl!
School room-updated!
Posted by Mari Jo on September 1, 2011 about Family, Comments are offWe have finally finished updating our school room! I am so excited to have a lighter and brighter space. We added a brighter overhead light, a new desk, a new rug and curtain, and a brand new color on the walls. I spend so much time in here now, and it feels wonderful for it to be more organized.

This is the norm. Home schooling is a family/pet affair. Also, did you notice our new ikea desk? I am in looooove.

This is the view from the door.

This is where we do our morning circle time together. I simplified a lot of stuff to make it more “Landon friendly”.

Our cozy reading area.

Toy storage that was once used in my classroom, but now graces our room. Thank you my dear Father-in-law!

Here is the area we use for carpet time. Landon plays on the blue carpet while AA does her first couple of work boxes.
Are you dying to know what is behind the curtain?

I dare to dream that some day this closet will be clean. Not today, but someday.
